  • About Me

Beyond The Casebook: Helping You Learn About The Law

There is a maxim dating back to Roman times which says that "ignorance of the law excuses no man." As a law student, I have analysed numerous cases in which successful, law-abiding citizens find themselves in court due to poor decisions and bad advice. Two recent cases come to mind. One was a costly custody hearing that occurred because the parents made no written agreement when they divorced. The other was a business partnership that was not correctly dissolved, leaving one partner bankrupt. In the cases I have studied, timely legal consultation would have reduced financial and emotional hardship. My blog is an attempt to lift the veil of mystery from the law and remove some of the ignorance which exists beyond casebooks. I aspire to amuse, enlighten and above all provide facts which keep you on the right side of the law courts.
